Athletes know the importance of protecting their knees, heads, and joints — but what about their teeth? On August 9, the Ramstein Dental Clinic is stepping up to help you protect your winning smile with free, custom-fit mouthguards for military members and their families.
From 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the clinic will open its doors to create mouthguards tailored to each athlete’s bite. The offer is available to Department of Defense (DoD) dependents, active-duty service members, and even retirees. Whether you’re blocking shots on the soccer field, diving for rebounds on the basketball court, or ducking punches in the ring, this personalized gear can mean the difference between staying in the game or a visit to the emergency room.
Dental trauma from sports injuries is more common than many realize. According to the American Dental Association, athletes who don’t wear mouth protection are 60 times more likely to suffer damage to their teeth. Custom-fit mouthguards not only offer better protection than over-the-counter models but are also more comfortable — increasing the likelihood that athletes will actually wear them during play.
“Sports are a big part of military family life, and protecting our athletes — especially kids — is a top priority,” said a Ramstein dental representative. “This mouthguard clinic is about safety, prevention, and making sure everyone can play confidently and smile proudly.”
Slots for this one-day event are limited, so early registration is strongly encouraged. Interested participants should call 06371-479-3310 to schedule an appointment. The process is quick and painless: a dental impression is taken, and within minutes, a durable, custom-fitted mouthguard is molded on-site.
