Preat, one of the leaders in dental implant prosthetics, has announced the immediate availability of PreatLoc, a new proprietary overdenture attachment system. Designed to support clinicians and laboratories, PreatLoc combines workflow compatibility, reliable retention and precision performance to enhance care for overdenture patients.

The PreatLoc system enables a seamless transition, offering compatibility with leading overdenture attachment systems. Positioned as a new and cost-effective treatment option for overdenture cases, PreatLoc is priced at up to 33% less than comparable attachment systems currently on the market.

“We are proud to introduce an overdenture attachment system that combines reliability, compatibility and ease of use at a competitive price,” said Ruben Arebalo, general manager at Preat. “We recognise the economic pressures faced by laboratories, practices and patients, and remain committed to delivering technical expertise and high-quality products that support long-term success.”

PreatLoc builds on Preat’s reputation for technical support and customer service, offering a system engineered for compatibility, dependable retention and cost efficiency.

Key benefits of the PreatLoc system include:

Reliability

PreatLoc inserts are engineered for consistent retention and demonstrated improved performance compared with leading overdenture attachment inserts after the first 10 cycles, when retention loss most commonly occurs. In standardised internal testing over 5,000 cycles, PreatLoc inserts maintained reliable, long-lasting retention. The system includes a standard pivot accommodating up to 20° of divergence and an extended pivot allowing up to 40° of divergence.

Designed with patient comfort and hygiene in mind, the system features a zirconium nitride (ZrN) surface coating to support restoration longevity. This biocompatible surface reduces biofilm formation, plaque adhesion and inflammation, and has shown greater bacterial resistance than titanium nitride (TiN).

Ease of use

PreatLoc is compatible with 18 implant systems and 35 connections, fitting the majority of major implant platforms. Its compatibility with leading overdenture attachment systems allows for straightforward integration into existing workflows, with no additional training or tooling required. Consistent nylon colour-coding ensures that worn inserts and abutments can be replaced easily without workflow disruption.

Patient confidence

Reliable, long-term retention contributes to improved patient comfort, satisfaction and quality of life. In addition, the anodised pink titanium denture cap enhances aesthetics in thin denture acrylics, offering a subtle yet meaningful improvement in appearance that supports patient confidence.

PreatLoc retention components and straight abutments are FDA-cleared and available now. Angled abutments are expected to launch later in 2026, subject to regulatory clearance, providing greater load distribution and treatment flexibility.

Backed by 45 years of Preat’s overdenture expertise and customer support, PreatLoc delivers premium performance without the premium price. Early adoption of the system’s legacy versions across Europe and Australia has been strong, with clinicians responding positively to its compatibility and enhanced durability.
