Registration application fees from 1 January 2020

The introduction of these fees will correct this situation and ensure alignment with our fee-setting policy. The removal of this cross-subsidy has also contributed to the recently announced reductions to the Annual Retention Fee for dental professionals.

The new registration application fees are made up of two parts:

  • a flat rate for processing costs, and
  • a variable rate for costs associated with assessing the application.

The registration application fees will be applied as follows:

Bank descriptor (precentages are the proportion of application from this band in 2018) Processing fee Assessment fee Total fee
Registration as a UK-qualified dentist, dental care professionals (DCP) or additional DCP title(s) (65%) £22.95 £22.95
Registration as dentist with an EEA qualification, has passed the Overseas Registration Exam (ORE), or a recognised overseas qualification (9%) £22.95 £65.65 £88.60
Registration (requiring individual assessment) as a DCP with a European Economic Area (EEA) qualification, or as overseas qualification (4%) £22.95 £506.25 £529.35
Registration as a dentist with a qualification requiring an individual assessment (2%) £22.95 £662.40 £685.35
Registration (requiring individual assessment) of additional DCP title(s) with an EEA qualification, or an overseas qualification (1%) £22.95 £453.40 £476.35
