Tehama County Board of Supervisors to Discuss Dentist Contract

Red Bluff, CA — The Tehama County Board of Supervisors will meet Tuesday to consider a proposed contract with dentist Ronald L. Clark, DDS, to provide dental and medical care to inmates at the Tehama County Jail.

The agreement, if approved, would allow Clark to deliver services up to a total cost of $100,000. The contract is set to begin July 1 and continue through June 30, 2026.

County staff noted that Clark has been providing dental and medical care to jail inmates for over 20 years. His extensive experience includes surgical dental services that typical dental offices may not offer. This capability helps the county save costs by reducing the need to transport inmates to outside specialists in Red Bluff.

Funding for the contract has already been included in the Jail Health Budget for the current fiscal year.

Staff also reported that Clark has had no malpractice claims filed against him since 1993. He maintains all required insurance, including malpractice, general liability, and workers’ compensation, to ensure safe and compliant operations for his patients and staff.

Additional Agenda Items

During the meeting, the supervisors will consider appointing Al Cathey as Interim Road Commissioner, contingent on completion of pre-employment requirements.

Chief Probation Officer Pam Gonzalez and Superintendent Todd Hansen will present an overview of programs and services at the Tehama County Juvenile Detention Facility for youths in custody.

Interim Public Works Director Will Pike will propose an ordinance authorizing the Public Works Department to submit reports adjusting parcel charges for inflation within the Tehama County Permanent Road Division.

If adopted, the ordinance will take effect 30 days after passage and remain in force until modified or repealed. Officials said there is no financial impact associated with this measure.

The Tehama County Board of Supervisors typically meets every Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Tehama County Administrative Office in Red Bluff.
