There are 930 oral and maxillofacial surgeons in California, the most of any state, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The agency released updated employment information to reflect 2024 information on April 2.

In total, there are 5,330 oral and maxillofacial surgeons in the U.S.

  4. North Carolina: 230

Bottom five:

  1. Washington: 40
  2. South Dakota: 70

  5. Alabama, Iowa and Michigan: 110 each
