Two Brothers Arrested in Laurel Shooting; Harris Dental Clinic Hit by Multiple Shootings

Police arrested two brothers following a shooting in Laurel on Thursday. Around 12:45 p.m., the Laurel Police Department received a report of gunfire on the northbound 15 Freeway near Garcia’s Donut Shop.

When officers arrived, they discovered a gunfight in the middle of the roadway, with Harris Dental Clinic being struck by multiple rounds.

Xavier Coleman, the man involved in the shooting, was taken into police custody and faces charges of attempted aggravated assault and shooting into an occupied dwelling. His brother, Daniel Coleman, was also arrested at the scene on charges of possession of a stolen firearm.

Xavier Coleman’s bail was set at $250,000 per charge, for a total of $500,000; Daniel Coleman’s bail was set at $5,000.

As of Monday, July 7, Daniel Coleman had been removed from the online Jones County Jail incarceration list, while Xavier Coleman remained on the list.
