‘Universal’ Tools for Quick & Easy Imaging

A trio of solutions from Flow Dental can simplify your digital imaging workflow, while ensuring increased safety and comfort for patients

Diagnosis and treatment planning hinge on quality imaging—but in many practices, the difference between a clear x-ray and a retake comes down to how the image is captured. The right accessories can streamline the process, minimizing stress for clinicians and patients while helping deliver consistent results.

That’s where Flow Dental’s 3 digital sensor accessories come in—each designed to simplify the workflow and support reliable imaging every time.

One and Done

First up is the Sensibles universal positioning system, which enables practices to use a single sensor holder for any size sensor. It’s a cost-effective, reusable, and autoclavable solution that simplifies operatory shelves while ensuring proper sensor positioning and a smoother patient experience.

Sensibles can be easily adjusted to accommodate anterior, posterior, and bitewing x-rays, requiring just 1 bite block for a full-mouth series.

“I had no issues with adapting Sensibles to our existing digital sensors,” shared Malee Wong, RDH, who practices in Colorado and Texas. “Patients with a shallow palate and/or mandibular tori appreciated that I was able to customize the bite block location, therefore making it more comfortable when taking periapical radiographs.”

Fast, Easy Endo Images

Flow Dental took the simplicity of Sensibles one step further with the launch of Endo Sensibles, the first sensor positioner to meet the challenge of capturing images during endodontic treatment. Endo Sensibles features a window area as part of its bite block design, allowing clinicians to take images while instruments remain in the canal during progress checks. There’s also an adjustable ratcheting gripper that can hold any size sensor firmly in place.

“In a recent case, I was taking a periapical of tooth No. 4 and didn’t get the apex in the film,” shared John Jackfert, DDS, in Saint Albans, WV. “Instead of having to stop, I was able to quickly adjust the holder and take a vertical periapical in seconds.”

Fits Like a Glove

Designed to fit snugly on any sensor for patient safety, Snuggies—and Snuggies 2.0 for larger sensors—are custom-fi t sensor sleeves that are easy to apply and promote a tight fi t to keep sensors from shifting out of position. They also keep loose plastic away from patients, a feature that’s particularly helpful for gaggers or patients with small mouths.

Easy to apply with a “peel, stick, and go” design, and equipped with a thicker plastic to resist tearing, DPS evaluator Berry Stahl, DMD, shared that they “worked great” and confirmed that “one size is adjustable to all size sensors.”
