Next week, dental students will participate in the annual free Mission of Mercy Dental Clinic at the UVA-Wise Convocation Center in support of the charity’s 26th anniversary.
The clinic will return to Wise on Friday, July 18, and Saturday, July 19, to provide free preventive, restorative and surgical dental services to residents of Southwest Virginia, according to a release from the Virginia Dental Association Foundation (VDAF).
The clinic will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and patients are encouraged to arrive early. Preregistration will open at noon on Thursday, July 17, and on-site services will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.
“We look forward to returning to Wise County and continuing to serve the community. If you have not had a dental checkup for more than six months or are suffering from toothache, please consider visiting us during this event. We are deeply grateful to the outstanding volunteer dental team who will provide compassionate and professional care to every patient who comes to see us.”
This clinic will provide residents with a full range of dental services including cleaning, fillings, extractions and X-rays free of charge.
Mission Dental Clinic was founded by Dr. Terry Dickinson and has been serving for 26 years since its establishment, continuing to bring hope and health to residents in areas with scarce dental resources.
