There are currently 7,443 dental professional shortage areas in the U.S., according to the most recent data from the Health Resources and Services Administration.
The HRSA updated its dashboard showcasing data on health professional shortages Dec. 18.
The dashboard shows that 10,743 dental practitioners are needed to fill shortage areas.
