Of the $43 million, $16 million will go toward increasing reimbursement rates for dental providers who treat Medicaid patients. The proposal also includes licensing dental therapists.
The bill also sets aside $60,000 each year for the next two year to forgive dentists’ loans, specifically for those serving in rural areas. Mr. Evers also plans to spend $1.3 million more on grants for various dental clinics that serve low-income patients.
