Vitable Health, a comprehensive health benefits platform, has announced a partnership with DirectShifts, a clinician staffing platform, aimed at improving access to primary care and insurance coverage for healthcare professionals across the US.
This collaboration allows clinicians using DirectShifts — including physicians, nurse practitioners, CRNAs, nurses, behavioural health professionals, and medical assistants — to access Vitable Health’s primary care membership and receive guidance on insurance options. The programme is designed to provide affordable, convenient access to routine healthcare services.
Clinicians enrolled in Vitable Primary Care receive:
• Unlimited virtual visits with primary care providers
• Routine laboratory tests and over 1,000 prescription medications at no additional cost
• Preventive and chronic care services, such as annual wellness visits and health coaching
• Coverage with no copayments or deductibles
• Support from licensed benefits advisors to help select and enrol in individual insurance plans
Joseph Kitonga, chief executive officer of Vitable Health, said: “These professionals dedicate their careers to caring for others, yet too often they face hurdles in accessing care for themselves. By partnering with DirectShifts, we’re ensuring these clinicians can easily get the care and coverage they deserve, on their own terms.”
Research indicates that healthcare workers in the US have higher rates of chronic conditions than other professions and often encounter difficulties in accessing personal healthcare. Studies have shown that many physicians and nurses delay or self-manage care due to time constraints or limited access to services.
The Vitable Health and DirectShifts programme aims to address these challenges by reducing barriers related to cost and accessibility, allowing clinicians to manage preventive care, chronic conditions, and general health needs more effectively.
Sai Kumar Thumuluru, chief executive officer of DirectShifts, added: “Many clinicians delay or skip medical visits due to cost, workload, or burnout. By providing accessible and affordable care, this partnership supports clinicians’ health and well-being, which in turn benefits the broader healthcare system.”
Both organisations emphasise a commitment to improving healthcare access. DirectShifts focuses on simplifying connections between clinicians and employment opportunities, while Vitable Health aims to expand affordable, high-quality care for caregivers and hourly workers. The partnership brings these approaches together to ensure that healthcare professionals can access the care they require while continuing to deliver high-quality patient services.
