Oral Health Promotion Shines at Kids Healthy Village Event, Benefiting Hundreds of Children

Doha, Qatar – The Oral Health Promotion and Prevention Department, led by Dr. Najat Al-Yafei, participated for the second consecutive year in the Kids Healthy Village event, organized by the Corporate Communications Directorate of the Primary Health Care Corporation.

Dr. Al-Yafei said the department’s involvement reflects its commitment to integrating preventive care and promoting child and family health in community settings.

The event, held at Lusail Marina from December 24 to 27, 2025, attracted nearly 600 children over four days, with attendance peaking during the final days. Dr. Al-Yafei noted this growth highlights families’ increasing awareness of early oral health screening and the event’s success in reaching new community segments.

Mobile dental units and intraoral cameras were used to screen children’s teeth, allowing parents to see their children’s oral health firsthand. This approach not only boosted understanding but also transformed screenings into an interactive educational experience.

The team provided simplified educational activities, interactive games, and supportive giveaways to ensure children’s comfort and encourage acceptance of preventive care. Dr. Al-Yafei emphasized that staff professionalism and effective organization were key to the event’s success.

Parent surveys indicated very high satisfaction with both the quality of services and the overall experience, with many expressing increased motivation to care for their children’s oral health. Quick dental screenings were identified as the most valued component.

Dr. Al-Yafei concluded that the Kids Healthy Village event serves as a successful model of community-based preventive care, combining outreach with integrated health services to promote healthy practices and greater attention to oral health across Qatar.
