Singapore — The National Dental Centre Singapore (NDCS) has launched its first mobile dental clinic, bringing basic dental services such as cleaning, fillings, and extractions to 10 nursing homes in Singapore, helping vulnerable seniors better manage their oral health.
Minister of State for Digital Development and Information and Ministry of Health, Rahayu, officiated the opening ceremony of the mobile dental clinic at Bright Hill Evergreen Home on Friday, September 26.
The project is funded by Lion Corporation Singapore with a total of S$2.05 million.
The mobile dental clinic plans to visit each nursing home twice a year, staying for approximately two weeks each time, to provide oral health screenings and basic treatments, including fluoride treatments, cleaning, fillings, extractions, and X-rays.
The project, which began at Bright Hill Evergreen Home, is expected to cover all 10 nursing homes by 2028, serving approximately 1,900 seniors.
In addition, the National Dental Centre will collaborate with community dental clinics to ensure that seniors receive necessary follow-up care after initial treatment at the mobile clinics.
