STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAW) — Noble Community Clinic is set to open a new facility on Main Street on July 15, offering dental, medical, chiropractic, and behavioral health services to residents of Portage County.
Since 2019, Noble Community Clinic has provided some dental and medical care in Stevens Point. Now, it will close its existing locations and move all services to this new, larger clinic. The facility expects to serve up to 15,000 patients annually by 2027.
“The services are for everyone,” said Laura Waldvogel, CEO of Noble Community Clinic. “We specialize in helping people who face barriers to care, such as those with financial difficulties or who rely on Medicaid and Medicare.”
At a recent community information session, Waldvogel explained that about 70% of the care they provide is dental. The clinic also addresses gaps in other health services, especially those not covered by insurance.
“There is a real lack of access to behavioral health in our community,” she said. “After opening dental services, we planned to expand into a fully integrated facility.”
The new clinic has been in development for about six years. It will include an on-site pharmacy and is conveniently located on a bus route.
“It’s a beautiful and accessible location,” Waldvogel said.
In the coming weeks, the two current Noble Clinics in Stevens Point will close. All services will move into the new $18 million building. An open house is scheduled for July 26 at the new site.
More than 75% of Noble Community Clinic’s funding comes from insurance billing, primarily Medicaid. As a private, community-based nonprofit, the clinic is prepared to handle any federal funding cuts but emphasizes the growing demand for healthcare services and its role in filling that need.
