Henry Schein One announced strong continued growth for Dentrix Ascend, its native cloud-based practice management platform, as dental clinics increasingly move away from legacy systems in response to rising operational complexity, staffing pressures, and higher patient expectations.
Over the past 12 months, nearly 600 dental clinics have migrated from competing practice management systems to Ascend. They join more than 48,000 practices that use Dentrix dental technology platforms to manage clinical, operational, and financial workflows.
Adoption has accelerated sharply, with monthly Ascend installations more than doubling year over year. According to Henry Schein One, more than 90% of U.S. dental service organizations (DSOs) now use Ascend as their primary practice management software.
Designed as a fully cloud-native platform, Ascend enables multi-location scalability while streamlining scheduling, documentation, billing, and analytics through embedded AI-driven workflows. The company says these capabilities help practices improve efficiency, profitability, and patient satisfaction.
“Ascend continues to set the pace as the market leader, delivering the streamlined experience practices of every size need,” said Ali Hyatt, chief customer and growth officer at Henry Schein One. She noted that built-in AI allows practices to simplify daily operations while preparing for long-term growth.
Several large dental groups cited operational efficiency and consistency as key reasons for adopting the platform. Archway Dental Partners recently transitioned all 41 of its New England dental clinics to Ascend as part of a broader strategy to support scalable growth and modernize operations.
“Dentistry is at a turning point,” said Adam Richichi, CEO of Archway Dental Partners. “Cloud-based, AI-driven management systems are no longer optional. Ascend gives us a secure, future-ready foundation.”
California Dental Alliance Partners also selected Ascend to reduce administrative burden and improve workflow integration. After implementing the platform with Detect AI functionality in late 2025, the organization reported a more connected system that allows clinicians to focus more directly on patient care.
“Simplicity and efficiency are essential,” said Dr. Perry Patel, chief clinical officer of California Dental Alliance Partners. “A connected platform like Ascend supports better patient experiences and outcomes.”
Las Vegas Dental Management cited similar benefits, highlighting the need for standardized workflows across multiple locations. CEO Dr. Aaron Bulleigh said the platform’s consistency helps providers deliver uniform care across its dental clinics.
Ascend’s capabilities include centralized scheduling, automated eligibility verification, digital patient forms, and real-time connectivity across locations. Henry Schein One continues to expand the platform’s AI features, including voice-enabled notes, integrated phone tools, the Detect AI Impact Panel, and Claire, a multilingual virtual assistant available around the clock.
The platform is also supported by the dental industry’s largest API Exchange, with more than 700 endpoints processing over 6 billion secure data requests annually.
As dental clinics adapt to a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape, Henry Schein One positions Ascend as a modern solution designed to meet current demands while supporting future growth.
