OsteoReady names new CEO, chairman

Implant company OsteoReady has named Robert Gottlander, DDS, as its new CEO. Marc Nevins, DMD, has been named as the company’s chairman. Dr. Gottlander serves as a professor and associate dean for innovation at the University of Kentucky’s College of Dentistry in Lexington, KY. He was previously the chief marketing officer for global dentistry at Henry Schein. OsteoReady’s founder, Brady Frank, DDS, is no longer involved with the company.

Antibiotic prescription by dentists linked to serious infection

Antibiotics prescribed by dentists may be contributing to the growing problem of Clostridium difficile (C. diff) infection, which can cause severe diarrhea and even death. Many prescriptions issued by dentists are unnecessary or not recorded in medical charts, according to researchers presenting at the recent Infectious Diseases Society of America conference (IDWeek 2017) in San Diego. New product: Nobel Biocare debuts arch system at AAOMS

Nobel Biocare has launched the Trefoil arch system at the Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS) 2017 annual meeting in San Francisco.
