A dental clinic in Pasig City has drawn widespread attention online after its storefront sign cleverly adopted the phrase “Near Me,” a term commonly used in internet searches.
On February 19, Facebook user Kirk Patrix shared a photo of the signage reading “Dentist Near Me,” identifying it as belonging to GL Smile Solutions Dental Clinic Co. He joked in his caption that when people search for “dentist near me” online, the clinic’s name would likely appear in the results, praising the owner’s marketing savvy.
The post quickly gained traction, amassing more than 4,600 shares and hundreds of reactions and comments from amused netizens.
Days later, a dentist associated with the clinic responded to the viral post, confirming that they were intentionally “building that brand name.” The dentist added that the San Joaquin, Pasig branch is their first location.
In a message to Patrix, the dentist thanked him for appreciating the humor behind the name and even offered him a complimentary dental cleaning and checkup, along with discounts on other services, in gratitude for the publicity.
Patrix later publicly acknowledged and thanked the dentist for the offer.
The phrase “near me” is widely used in search engines to help users find nearby services based on their geolocation. Searches such as “coffee shops near me” or “restaurants near me” typically generate map-based results showing establishments within close proximity.
By incorporating the popular search term into its business name, the clinic appears to have tapped into a familiar digital habit—turning a common online query into a memorable real-world brand.
