A California endodontist shares how Dia-Root Bio Sealer and other DiaDent materials work together to make a positive impact on her local community —and beyond
Several years ago, Dr. Sue Suh embarked on a series of mission trips overseas, where she provided essential dental services to underserved communities. While her experiences there were eye-opening and inspiring, after returning home to Riverside, CA, she noticed significant barriers to care within her own community, so she began volunteering at free dental health fairs and community clinics.
“A lot of citizens didn’t have access to the insurance necessary to receive dental care, especially veterans and seniors,” Dr. Suh said. “That inspired me to open the Smile Unto Him dental clinic—to provide 100% free dental treatments to these patients.” Supporting residents of Riverside County, as well as missions in Cambodia, Mexico, and Central America, Smile Unto Him is dedicated to providing low-income and uninsured communities with free access to high-quality dental care.

Dr. Suh appreciates the generous support from companies like DiaDent, which not only donates products and supplies for clinical use but sponsors fundraising efforts and CE courses that help raise money for operating costs.
“With this support, we’re using DiaDent products most of the time,” Dr. Suh said. “So far, we’ve been using Dia-Root Bio Sealer with very good outcomes.” Dia-Root Bio Sealer is a premixed, calcium silicate-based MTA sealer that has optimal flowability to reach all canals. With superior bonding to both dentin and gutta-percha, it also prevents shrinkage and microleakage, while promoting natural tissue healing.
“If you use a resin-based sealer, you cannot work when there is moisture present, and you cannot finish a root canal treatment if there is bleeding through the canal,” Dr. Suh explained. “Dia-Root Bio Sealer is bioceramic, so it helps to control the moisture and bleeding really well. It’s been very useful and efficient with root canal patients.”
