Dentsply Sirona and Rapid Shape have announced the validation of Rapid Shape’s D50+, D90+ and PRO 20 3D printers for use with the Lucitone digital print denture system. The validation allows the system’s materials and workflow to be used on these printers for digital denture production.
With a declining number of skilled dental technicians and growing demand from an ageing population, many dental laboratories are seeking efficient and consistent methods for denture production. The collaboration between Dentsply Sirona and Rapid Shape aims to provide laboratories with an integrated digital solution designed to improve productivity while maintaining material standards.
The Lucitone digital print denture system includes a range of materials and validated workflows that use BAM! smart polymer technology. The system is designed for producing full and partial dentures and offers 16 A-D tooth shades with two bleach options.
Rapid Shape’s 3D printing systems are designed for dental applications ranging from chairside use to high-volume manufacturing. The D50+ and D90+ printers incorporate an automatic separation module that supports automated production of up to 120 dentures without manual intervention.
The validation covers the full range of Lucitone digital print materials, including digital print, digital value, digital IPN, digital fuse, and the associated digital cure units. This enables laboratories to produce both premium and economy dentures with streamlined workflows and reduced processing times.
According to Dentsply Sirona, the collaboration is intended to make digital denture production more accessible to dental laboratories of various sizes. Rapid Shape stated that the partnership reflects its focus on advancing dental technology and providing practical tools for modern laboratories.
