The International College of Dentists’ (ICD) Global Visionary Fund received US$3.6mworth of personal protective equipment (PPE) from Henry Schein Cares, the global corporate social responsibility programme of Henry Schein, Inc.
The college is facilitating the disbursement of PPE to charitable projects and humanitarian missions around the world. The gloves, face shields, hand sanitisers, isolation gowns, thermometers and coveralls are essential materials that will allow oral health care to be safely delivered to underserved and struggling individuals and communities.
This is the largest donation ICD has ever received and the latest development in the decade-long, enduring relationship between the ICD and Henry Schein, Inc.
“This donation reflects our continued sense of purpose and commitment to values that make the world a better place,” said Stanley M. Bergman, chairman of the board and CEO of Henry Schein, Inc.
The ICD Global Visionary Fund (GVF) supports humanitarian and educational oral health projects globally through grants, in-kind donations and volunteer connection. This collaborative PPE initiative with Henry Schein not only extends the support of the GVF, but also continues to strengthen the college’s core values of humanitarianism and international relations.
