A Congleton dental clinic has been recognised for four decades of service to the local community.
Congleton Dental Centre has received a High Street Award from Congleton Town Council, marking its 40 years of continuous operation.
The award was accepted by long-serving team member Jenny Furnival on behalf of the practice. It was presented by deputy town mayor, councillor Suzy Firkin.
Councillor Firkin praised the clinic as a vital part of the town, highlighting its long-standing commitment to providing NHS dental care to local families.
Founded in 1985 by Dr Andrew Mellor, the practice first operated from a single surgery at 73 West Street in the town centre.
In 2006, it relocated to 11 West Street, where it has expanded to eight modern treatment rooms. The clinic now uses fully computerised patient records, digital appointment systems and digital radiography.
The practice has remained dedicated to the NHS, offering the full range of available NHS dental treatments.
Now run by Dr Mellor’s daughter, Carly Mellor, the family-owned clinic employs 39 members of staff.
