The Faculty of Dentistry has earned international recognition after a team of sixth-year undergraduate students received a Travel Award at The 2nd International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Medical Education (AIMEC 2025).
The conference was held from December 12 to 14, 2025, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and brought together researchers and educators from around the world to discuss innovations in AI-driven medical education.
The award was presented for the research titled “Self-Directed Learning Outcomes Using AI-Assisted Digital Smile Design among Final-Year Dental Students.” The study examines how artificial intelligence combined with Digital Smile Design technology can enhance self-directed learning among final-year dental students, highlighting new approaches to modern dental education.
The findings demonstrate the capability of Thai students to integrate advanced digital technologies into dental training at a level comparable with international standards, reinforcing the growing role of AI in dental health education.
The student research team consisted of Rtn. Anati Malem, Rtn. Wachirada Tangam, and Rtn. Pranchiva Srisuchat. The project was supervised by Dr. Preeyarat Plongniras and Asst. Prof. Dr. Supawich Morkmued.
Faculty representatives said the achievement reflects the institution’s commitment to promoting student research and innovation on the global stage. It also underscores the importance of artificial intelligence in the sustainable development of dental health education, ensuring it evolves in step with rapid digital transformation.
