A major fire broke out at a dental clinic on the first floor of Mira’s Prestige Apartments in Korwa’s Sector 4 on Saturday morning, causing an estimated loss of 3 to 4 lakh rupees.
The fire broke out around 9:20 a.m. and destroyed electrical appliances and furniture, including air conditioners, televisions, CCTV cameras, printers, refrigerators, and office equipment.
According to Gil Souza, a firefighter at the Margao fire station, a fire truck carrying Deputy Firefighter RS Khutkar and his crew was dispatched. The fire was under control by 10:50 a.m.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the fire originated in the main reception area. A staff member initially attempted to extinguish the fire but was unsuccessful, and local residents subsequently assisted the firefighters. Smoke spread to the upper floors but was quickly evacuated.
Korwa police conducted a thorough investigation and registered a fire incident report.
