Two years ago, I reviewed the usmile Y10 Pro electric toothbrush and was deeply impressed by its excellent cleaning performance and months-long battery life.
I loved it and used it daily—until usmile sent me the brand-new usmile Y20 Pro smart electric toothbrush.
At first glance, it looks almost identical to the previous model, so what sets it apart? Let’s take a closer look, and it also includes a free usmile C10 water flosser.
The usmile Y20 Pro comes with:
Two brush heads
USB-C charging cable
Wall mount
User manual
Design and build
The Y20 Pro feels just as comfortable to hold as the Y10 Pro. It features a circular smart display with the main and secondary buttons marked below, outlined by white grooves. A rubber stopper protects the USB-C charging port at the bottom of the handle—no more proprietary cables.
Battery life is slightly shorter than the previous model. The Y10 Pro promises six months of use on a single charge, and in my experience, that even extends to eight months with daily use.
However, the Y20 Pro’s official claim is only 90 days of use on a single charge. While the shorter battery life isn’t a significant improvement, the other features likely make up for it.
Brush Head Upgrade
The new brush head features a three-section design with wider gaps and a silicone pad on the back, improving both cleaning coverage and comfort.
Smart Features and App Integration
Thanks to the companion app, the Y20 Pro is even smarter than the Y10 Pro. You can track your brushing habits and customize the modes. I particularly like the dual-mode settings: a quick and efficient clean in the morning and a deep clean at night.
Brushing Modes
Smart Mode: Optimizes brushing performance based on your oral care needs.
Cavity Prevention Mode: Focuses on cavity-prone areas, ideal for those with a sweet tooth.
Coffee Stain Removal Mode: Effectively removes discoloration stains.
Dual Mode: Provides efficient cleaning in the morning and evening, and a deep clean in the evening.
Gum Care Mode: Cares for sensitive gums.
The app uses a timer to guide you through different areas of your mouth, highlighting problem areas and generating a brushing report. I initially found this app interesting, but I eventually gave it up and returned to my normal brushing habits.
Performance
The Y20 Pro inherits the strengths of the Y10 Pro, offering enhanced cleaning power and smart features like dual mode. After regular use, I can honestly say it removes plaque better than any other toothbrush I’ve ever used, and I anticipate less gum irritation at my next dental checkup—definitely a plus.
The main drawbacks are the shorter battery life compared to its predecessor and the higher price. If you’re looking for extreme cleaning performance and enjoy (or at least want the option of) smart app features, the Y20 Pro is worth considering. If long battery life is your top priority, the Y10 Pro is still probably the better choice.
