Perfection Plus & SmileStar Offer Global Dental Nurse Volunteering

Perfection Plus is partnering with the SmileStar charity and its founder, Dr. Mitesh Badiani, Chief Clinical Officer and Partner at Portman Dental, to offer dental nurses a unique opportunity to participate in an international outreach program in 2026/2027.

SmileStar aims to provide primary dental care to under-resourced populations in Africa, India and to retired Royal Marines in the UK.

The organization is continuing to expand its services with plans to extend its outreach footprint to Fiji and Peru. Since its inception, SmileStar volunteers have treated more than 50,000 patients with the goal of relieving pain, improving local healthcare and building sustainable systems of care.

This initiative reflects the Badiani family’s long-standing commitment to charity and continues the philanthropic tradition of the hospital founded in 2008 by Dr. Mitesh’s father, Jagdishbhai Badiani, in Gujarat, India. The hospital is committed to providing dental and eye care to make a real difference to the local community.

Successful dental nurses will be selected by a panel of leading industry experts and will be deployed to a number of project sites including Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Congo, Uganda and Kenya.

The shortlisted candidates will only need to raise £500 of their own money, with the remainder of travel and project expenses generously funded by Perfection Plus.

Applicants are asked to submit a cover letter of no more than 500 words outlining the following:

Motivation to join the SmileStar Outreach Project

Passion for dentistry and reasons for wanting to make a difference to disadvantaged groups

Personal and dental training background

Innovative plan to raise £500

Sam Wells, General Manager of Perfection Plus, said: “SmileStar has a profound impact, not only bringing real improvements to patients, but also inspiring everyone who participates, building a positive legacy of global oral health access. We are very proud to be associated with such a cause.”

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for dental nurses who are passionate about serving others and want to participate in international medical work. They will join a team of professional and caring volunteers to bring smiles and hope to those in need around the world.
