Dental Office Opens Its Doors to Help Community Stay Warm

In Grand Traverse County, Michigan, a local dental office is extending its support beyond dental care to help the community stay warm this winter. United We Smile, a clinic located in Copper Ridge and operated by the United Way of Northwest Michigan, opened its doors on Wednesday for a special clothing giveaway.

While the clinic’s primary focus is maintaining oral health, it also houses a donation area for clothing and personal care items. These items are usually distributed to patients, but this week, United We Smile decided to offer them to the entire community.

Jennifer Kerns, a representative from the clinic, explained, “We received an overwhelming amount of clothing donations, particularly sweaters, so we decided to open our doors and focus on giving out all the clothes instead of seeing patients today.”

United We Smile is currently seeking donations of toddler and infant clothing to continue supporting the community.
