Delta Dental of Idaho Awards $100,000 to Expand Community Dental Services

Delta Dental of Idaho has awarded more than $100,000 in grants to five nonprofit and community organizations as part of its Spring 2025 Oral Health Grant Program. The funding will support projects that improve access to dental care and promote better oral health across the state.

The state’s leading stand-alone dental benefits provider selected recipients through a competitive review led by senior Delta Dental leaders and an external dental expert. The committee evaluated applications based on need, alignment with Delta Dental’s mission, and the potential to serve underserved communities.

“Each year, we’re moved by the dedication these groups show in tackling oral health challenges,” said Heather Brown, Senior Director of Oral Health and Community Outreach at Delta Dental of Idaho. “These programs not only improve access to care but also support the dental workforce and long-term health—especially for those who often go without.”

Grant Recipients and Projects:

Family Health Services – Funding will help purchase a panoramic X-ray machine for a new clinic in Shoshone, improving diagnostics for patients in the Magic Valley region.

Community Health Association of Spokane (CHAS) – The grant will fund dental care vouchers at the Moscow clinic and support a portable dental unit for outreach in Latah and Nez Perce counties.

Southeastern Idaho Public Health – Grant funds will be used to buy equipment and supplies for a school-based dental program offering sealants and fluoride treatments to students.

Special Olympics Idaho – Funding will provide portable dental units and supplies to deliver on-site preventive dental care during Special Olympics events throughout the state.

Delta Dental’s grant program continues to play a key role in helping communities overcome barriers to oral health and supporting a stronger dental care system in Idaho.
