Patients in the Northern Tablelands now have greater access to advanced oral surgery, following New England Oral Surgery’s decision to join Smile On Clinics – a major Australian dental group dedicated to improving care in regional communities.
Known for its long-standing expertise, New England Oral Surgery will continue to be led by Dr. Quintin Wilson, working alongside Professor Peter Reher, Dr. Ajitha Sugnanam, and Dr. Dan Allan. Patients will still receive the personalised treatment they are familiar with, but now with the added benefit of enhanced resources, clinical support, and modern systems.
The partnership aims to expand the clinics’ capacity to handle more complex oral surgery, strengthen ties with local dentists, and improve access for rural and remote communities.
“We’re still the same team, but now we have the backing of Smile On Clinics to expand our services, introduce new technologies, and continue working with local dentists to bring care closer to home,” said Dr. Wilson, founder and principal dentist. “As someone born and raised in the New England region, it’s incredibly important to me that patients don’t have to travel for treatment they should be able to access locally.”
Based in Armidale, New England Oral Surgery serves patients from Tamworth to Glen Innes, with a monthly clinic planned in Inverell to cut travel times for rural patients needing surgical care.
A major benefit of the partnership is the introduction of TEETH ON IMPLANTS® – a full-arch dental implant procedure that allows teeth removal, infection treatment, and implant placement in a single surgical appointment. Previously available only in major cities, this treatment is now accessible in the New England region.
“This is about supporting the next evolution of care in our regions,” Dr. Wilson said. “Patients shouldn’t have to travel to major cities for advanced treatments. With the support of Smile On Clinics, we’re making sure they don’t have to.”
Smile On Clinics operates more than 20 practices across New South Wales and Queensland, including regional hubs in Griffith, Taree, Tamworth, and Dubbo, with a focus on bringing premium dental services closer to home.
