Philips Sonicare Introduces Next-Generation Electric Toothbrushes

Royal Philips (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHIA), a global leader in health technology, has announced the launch of its latest electric toothbrushes, the Philips Sonicare 6300 and Philips Sonicare 7400.

The new devices, powered by Next-Generation Sonicare technology, are designed to improve oral health through a combination of precision cleaning, real-time feedback, and personalized brushing guidance.

The two models aim to support patients who want healthier teeth and gums while providing a brushing experience that is both powerful and gentle.

Key Features Across Both Models

All-in-One brush head: Removes up to 30 times more plaque in difficult-to-reach areas compared with a manual toothbrush.

Visual pressure sensor: Lights up when users apply excessive pressure, protecting teeth and gums.

SmarTimer and Brush Pacer: Encourage full two-minute brushing sessions and even coverage across the mouth.

Brush head replacement reminder: Alerts users when it’s time to change brush heads.

Three intensity settings: Adjustable to low, medium, or high for comfort.

Long battery life: Provides up to 21 days of brushing on a single charge.

Protective travel case: Enables convenient portability.

The 6300 model is tailored for patients with sensitive teeth and gums. It offers two cleaning modes: Clean and Sensitive, providing a gentle yet thorough brushing experience.

The 7400 model focuses on gum health and advanced personalization. It includes four cleaning modes: Clean, Sensitive, White, and Gum Health. The toothbrush also connects to the Philips Sonicare app, which uses sensor-based data to deliver personalized feedback. Users receive guidance on missed areas, brushing pressure, and duration to help improve daily habits.

Supporting the Transition to Power Brushing

According to Matina Vidalis, senior marketing director for consumer and professional oral healthcare at Philips Personal Health North America, many patients hesitate to adopt electric toothbrushes because they fear they may be too harsh.

“Manual brushing often misses plaque in hard-to-reach areas or applies inconsistent pressure,” Vidalis explained. “The Philips Sonicare 6300 and 7400 are designed to make the transition to power brushing easier. They provide gentle, effective cleaning for sensitive teeth and gums, enabling dental professionals to guide patients with confidence.”

With these launches, Philips continues to expand its Sonicare portfolio, offering patients and dental professionals innovative tools to achieve superior oral health.
