Dentistry Today Founder Paul Radcliffe Remembered

Paul F. Radcliffe, founder and longtime CEO of Dentistry Today, passed away on March 8 at the age of 99.

In 1981, Paul Radcliffe, Susan Radcliffe, and James Radcliffe founded Dentistry Today in Montclair, New Jersey with a vision to provide dentists with practical clinical education and insight. What began as a bold entrepreneurial idea grew into what is now the No. 1 clinical dental magazine, serving the profession for more than four decades.

For more than 40 years, Paul led the publication, helping establish Dentistry Today as a trusted voice in the dental community. Today, the brand reaches hundreds of thousands of dental professionals through its print publication, digital platform, and continuing education programs.

A firm believer in perseverance and entrepreneurship, Paul built not only a successful publication, but a lasting family legacy. Today, Dentistry Today continues as a three-generation family business, with James Radcliffe serving as CEO and President and Brooke Radcliffe as Vice President of Marketing and Development.

“My grandfather lived an incredible 99 years, and in that time he built more than a publication,” said Brooke. “He built a legacy of education, entrepreneurship, and family.”

Paul Radcliffe’s vision continues to guide Dentistry Today and the generations carrying his work forward.
