Union County’s 2nd Annual Back-to-School Health Expo: Free Teeth Cleaning & Services

The Union County Board of Supervisors and the Union County Department of Public Safety are pleased to announce the second annual Back-to-School Health Fair, to be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Varinanco Sports Center in Roselle.

This event, co-hosted by Roselle University-Rahway (RWJUH Rahway) and Trinitas Regional Medical Center, aims to provide Union County residents and families with free health services, screenings, resources, and giveaways to help them prepare for the upcoming school year.

“The beginning of a new school year is often filled with both excitement and challenges. By offering these health services, we hope to help families navigate the transition and ensure they have the support they need to stay healthy and safe during the back-to-school season,” said Union County Board Chair Lourdes M. Leon. “Our goal is for every child to be ready to learn and for parents to feel confident that their family’s health is protected.”

The health fair will offer a range of free health services to community members. Eligible attendees will be able to receive vaccinations from the Union County Family Clinic, free dental cleanings from Overlook Medical Center-Atlantic Health System, and health insurance guidance through HolaDoctor and Wellpoint.

In addition, PROCEED, Inc. and Prevention Links will provide utility assistance and support services to families, Bridgeway and NAMI NJ will offer mental health screenings and resources, and the Partnership for Maternal and Child Health will deliver important information about maternal health.

RWJUH Rahway and Trinitas will conduct preventive screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, and stroke risk. Nurses will also provide blood lead level tests, and environmental health specialists from the Union County Health Administration will use XRF analyzers to test for lead in everyday items.

To ensure residents have access to important preventive care and resources in one place, the event will feature short presentations on nutrition education, physical therapy, and emergency preparedness.

The expo provides a valuable opportunity for all Union County families to prepare for the new school year with a healthy lifestyle.
