This week, families in Renfrew County looking to maintain good oral health will have a convenient option—right at their local library.
The Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) announced a free community dental clinic on Wednesday, August 13, at the Renfrew Public Library, providing essential dental exams and preventive care for residents of all ages.
From 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., families can visit without an appointment to see a registered dental hygienist. The clinic will provide visual dental exams to help identify potential oral health issues, as well as fluoride treatments to protect teeth and strengthen tooth enamel.
These services are free of charge, ensuring that residents don’t miss out on important dental care due to financial hardship.
In addition to the Renfrew event, the RCDHU will also offer the same free services at the Madawaska Valley Public Library in Calabogie on Thursday, August 14, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
This program is part of the RCDHU’s ongoing commitment to improving community health by providing more convenient access to preventative dental care, particularly for families who may not be able to see a dentist regularly.
By hosting these clinics in community centers like libraries, the RCDHU hopes to reach a wider audience and promote the importance of maintaining oral health at all stages of life.
Residents are encouraged to take advantage of these walk-in clinics to ensure potential dental problems are identified early and learn more about ways to maintain a healthy smile.
