Denture Technician: Fastest-Growing U.S. Medical Job, $240K+ Salary

Denturists are quickly becoming the fastest-growing profession in the U.S. healthcare industry, according to a new study by international recruitment firm Espirita.

Based on data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the study shows that this dental profession will grow faster than all other medical positions from 2020 to 2024.

The main responsibility of a denturist is to customize dentures and implants for patients. According to the data, the average annual salary increase for this position is as high as 39.24%, significantly higher than other medical professions.

Currently, the average annual salary of practitioners has reached $240,750, reflecting the strong demand for highly skilled dental technology in the market.

Close behind are medical dosimetrists, who are responsible for calculating the precise radiation dose required for cancer patients, with an average annual salary growth rate of 15.31%.

In third place is the “other therapists” category, with an annual growth rate of 10.88%, covering a range of specialized treatment positions that have not yet been included in the mainstream classification.

The job growth rate of psychiatric technicians ranked fourth with 9.67%, indicating that mental health services continue to expand in the United States.

Pediatricians ranked fifth with an average annual growth rate of 9.53%, reflecting the continued growth in demand for pediatric medical services.

The report also pointed out that overall, the growth rate of medical support positions is significantly faster than other types of medical positions.

The average annual growth rate of support positions is 1.08%, while the average annual growth rate of practice and technical positions, including doctors and technical experts, is only 0.23%.

This shows that the entire medical system is increasingly relying on experienced support staff to maintain operations.

Sam Tennant, global operations director of Espirita, said: “The growth trend of professional positions such as restorative dentists and dosimetrists shows that the modern medical system pays more and more attention to professional capabilities in niche areas.

The aging population has driven strong demand for dental services such as dentures and implant restorations, and the prevalence of chronic diseases has also increased the emphasis on precision treatment and management.”

This study provides a clear guide to the future development trends of the medical industry and reveals the importance of technical expertise and precision medicine in promoting career growth.
