The ADA’s monthly “Economic Outlook and Emerging Issues in Dentistry” asked dentists if staffing shortages or a lack of patient demand for care was more concerning.
Here is what concerned dentists the most:
DSO-affiliated dentists
Dental team staffing shortages: 61.7%
Not enough patient demand for care: 26.7%
Neither of these concerns me: 11.7%
Non-DSO-affiliated dentists
Dental team staffing shortages: 51.1%
Not enough patient demand for care: 36%
Neither of these concerns me: 12.9%
