Florida judge denies dentist’s bid for COVID-19 loss coverage

The case was dismissed Sept. 1 because the judge found that Dr. Martinez’s Allied Insurance policy explicitly excludes coverage “for loss or damage caused directly or indirectly by any virus.”

Since the COVID-19 pandemic brought about Gulf Coast Smiles’ temporary closure, the judge found the insurer not to be at fault.
