Lautoka – The opening of Bula Smile Dental Clinic opposite Namoli Village in the city center brings a new level of dental services to the Lautoka community.
This modern clinic, a joint venture between Taukei Vidilo, Ratu Viliame Bouwalu, and their elderly parents, marks a significant milestone for Dr. Adnieal Chand. Over $130,000 was invested in the clinic, with support from the Fiji Development Bank.
Ratu Viliame expressed his deep gratitude for Dr. Chand’s decision to open the clinic so close to his home village of Namoli. “It’s such a wonderful idea,” he said.
Dr. Chand graduated from the Fiji Medical School and worked for the Ministry of Health for 12 years, providing dental services to patients in the Yasawa, Kaiasi, Sigatoka, and Ba districts.
He later worked at Lautoka Hospital and joined the Republic of Fiji Armed Forces in 2021, serving in the Sinai Peninsula that same year before returning to Lautoka Hospital in 2022.
“We started planning the clinic in January. It’s always been my dream to own my own practice,” Dr. Chand said.
All the equipment is brand new, primarily sourced from Australia. Services offered include consultations, diagnostic X-rays, fillings, cleaning and polishing, teeth whitening, extractions, root canals, wisdom tooth removal, dentures, and other dental procedures.
