Dental Group Expands Connecticut Footprint with New Bridgeport Practice

An out-of-state dental provider is strengthening its presence in Connecticut with the opening of a new practice in Bridgeport and the recent acquisition of a former bank branch in Danbury.

Roseland, New Jersey-based Abra Health Group has launched Presto Dental at 3101 Main St., a 14,298-square-foot, single-story facility. The new office offers a full range of dental services, including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, and orthodontics. The practice features 29 dental chairs and employs 27 staff members.

According to city property records, Abra 3101 Main St. LLC purchased the building in July 2023 for $1.1 million. While the limited liability company’s name suggests affiliation with Abra Health Group, the LLC does not appear in state records. Requests for confirmation of ownership from the company were not immediately answered.

Abra Health Group already operates four All About Kids dental offices across Connecticut, located in Danbury, Derby, Norwalk, and Stamford. These offices collectively employ 94 staff members. The company has indicated it is considering expanding the Presto Dental brand further within the state.

In addition to the Bridgeport location, Abra recently purchased a 12,517-square-foot former Wells Fargo bank branch for $1.4 million. Attempts to obtain further details on the acquisition were not immediately returned.

Abra Health Group maintains a significant presence in New Jersey, with eight Abra Dental offices, four Garden Oral Surgery Group locations, and two Pearly Whites offices. In Pennsylvania, the company operates seven Smiles 4 Keeps locations.

The company traces its origins to 2008, when Drs. Brooke and Michael Skolnick founded ChildSmiles in Newark, New Jersey.

Since then, it has expanded through acquisitions and the development of multiple dental brands across several states.

The Bridgeport opening reflects a broader trend of dental service providers increasing their regional reach through acquisitions and the establishment of multi-specialty practices. Presto Dental aims to combine pediatric and general dentistry services under one roof, catering to families and individuals seeking comprehensive care.

As the company evaluates further expansion in Connecticut, industry observers note that such growth could increase competition in the local dental market, potentially benefiting patients through greater service options and accessibility.

With its new Bridgeport practice and ongoing acquisitions, Abra Health Group continues to reinforce its strategy of regional growth, blending local service delivery with a broader network of multi-specialty dental offices.
