Dental Implants Workshop at Aga Khan University Enhances Clinical Training for Young Dentists

Aga Khan University recently hosted a hands-on dental implants workshop aimed at helping newly graduated dentists transition from theoretical learning to clinical practice.

The program, organized by ClinicalEdge, a platform dedicated to skill-based dental education, offered participants supervised, real-world experience in implant placement.

Attendees benefited from direct mentorship by experienced clinicians, including Dr. Ayesha Hanif, who guided participants through surgical protocols, treatment planning, and critical clinical decision-making.

Supported by NeoBiotech, the workshop allowed dentists to perform implant procedures in a controlled clinical environment, addressing a key challenge for early-career professionals: converting academic knowledge into precise clinical execution.

Dr. Rooja Yousuf, founder of ClinicalEdge, highlighted that the initiative reflects a broader shift toward practical, competency-based dental education in Pakistan. Through workshops, webinars, and collaborative training, the organization aims to equip young dentists with the skills required to confidently handle complex procedures.

Dental implants are increasingly favored for tooth replacement, demanding both surgical precision and individualized treatment planning. Programs like this accelerate skill development, ensuring that graduates are better prepared for real-world clinical challenges.

As the demand for implant procedures grows, hands-on training initiatives such as the Aga Khan University workshop are expected to strengthen Pakistan’s dental workforce, producing more capable and confident practitioners.
