A hands-on training workshop on dental implants was recently held at Aga Khan University, aiming to help newly graduated dentists bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and clinical practice.
Organized by ClinicalEdge, a platform focused on skill-based dental education, the program provided participants with supervised, real-world experience in implant placement.
Attendees received direct mentorship from experienced clinicians, including Dr. Ayesha Hanif, who guided them through surgical protocols, treatment planning, and clinical decision-making.
The workshop was supported by NeoBiotech and allowed participants to perform implant procedures in a controlled clinical environment. The initiative sought to address one of the most common challenges faced by young dentists—translating academic learning into precise clinical execution.
ClinicalEdge founder Dr. Rooja Yousuf, who led the initiative, said the program reflects a broader shift toward practical, competency-based dental education in Pakistan. Through workshops, webinars, and collaborative training, the organization aims to equip early-career dentists with the skills needed to perform complex procedures with confidence.
Dental implants have become an increasingly preferred solution for tooth replacement, requiring both surgical precision and a strong understanding of patient-specific treatment planning. Training programs such as this are designed to accelerate skill development and improve clinical readiness.
As demand for implant procedures continues to rise, hands-on initiatives like the Aga Khan University workshop are expected to play a key role in preparing a more capable and confident dental workforce in Pakistan.
