Introduced by Septodont, Dentapen is the new generation of powered injector for dental anaesthesia.
Dentapen has a non-threatening look as compared with traditional syringe and allows constant flow of the anaesthetic solution, reducing the perceived pain of the patient.
It utilises Computer-Controlled Local Anaesthesia Device (CCLAD) technology tested on dentists. The study conducted demonstrated a marked reduction in pain perception for injections using the CCLAD system1.
Ninety-six per cent of dentists tested received a palatal injection, and preferred the electronic syringe over the manual one. They reported that pain was reduced when compared to a standard manual syringe.
This device is used with standard syringe grip or pen-like handling, no additional training needed. It is also compatible with any needle and has five intuitive buttons:
- Activation: automatic self-aspiration
- On/Off with battery level indicator
- Speed selection:
- slow: 1ml/30s
- slower: 1ml/60s
- slowest: 1ml/90s
- Mode selection:
- Intraligamentary: the slowest speed with maximum force
- Ramp-up: anaesthesia flow increases gradually and constantly
- Retraction: return to the initial position and insert the next cartridge
The device features effortless injection that matches user’s preferences. It is ergonomic, lightweight, cordless and has no console.
The Dentapen kit includes one electronic syringe; two pen-style finger grips; three universal batteries; five syringe-style finger grips; seven cartridge holders; 25 disposable protective sleeve and O-rings. It comes on 30 days buy-and-try with no questions asked on returns.
