Denture Technicians Drive US Medical Job Growth

According to a new study released by international recruitment company Espirita, prosthodontists have become the fastest growing medical profession in the United States.

The study, based on an analysis of data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, points out that this profession will lead the growth rate in the medical industry from 2020 to 2024.

Prosthodontists specialize in customizing restorations such as dentures and implants for patients. The study shows that their average annual salary growth rate is as high as 39.24%, far exceeding all other medical positions.

Currently, the average annual salary of practitioners in this profession has reached $240,750, showing its high degree of specialization and market demand.

Following closely behind are medical dosimetrists, who are responsible for calculating precise radiation doses for cancer treatments, with an annual salary growth rate of 15.31%.

Ranked third is the “other therapists” category, which covers a variety of non-standard treatment positions, with an annual growth rate of 10.88%.

Psychiatric technicians ranked fourth with a 9.67% job growth rate, reflecting the growing importance of mental health services across the country.

Pediatricians ranked fifth with a 9.53% growth rate, reflecting the continued need for child health professionals.

The study also found that overall medical support jobs grew at an average annual rate of 1.08%, compared to an average annual growth rate of 0.23% for medical practitioners and technical positions. This shows that the US healthcare system is increasingly dependent on support staff.

“The rapid growth of specialists such as denturists and dosimetrists shows that the healthcare system is moving towards a higher degree of specialization,” said Sam Tennant, global operations director of Espirita.

As the population ages, the demand for experts in dentistry and other chronic disease-related fields continues to rise, driving widespread demand for refined treatment and diagnosis.”
