Roane State Community College is providing free dental cleanings for children aged 4 to 12 at its Oak Ridge campus. The clinic is located on the first floor of the Coffey/McNally Building at 701 Briarcliff Avenue. These free dental services, which will be available until the end of March, include teeth cleaning, dental X-rays, and a fluoride treatment.
The clinic operates during the spring semester, opening from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, with a break from noon to 1 p.m. On Fridays, it is open from 8 a.m. to noon. The free cleaning service is specifically for children and runs only through February and March 2026. Because of high demand, parents are urged to schedule appointments early.
To book an appointment or to learn more about the dental clinic, families can call the clinic at (865) 481-2016 during operating hours. Once all spots are filled, the clinic will not be able to accept additional patients due to limited availability. This program is part of Roane State’s Dental Hygiene Program and aims to promote good oral health for children in the community.
In addition to free cleanings for children, the dental hygiene clinic offers services for adults, such as cleanings, sealants, and teeth whitening. These adult services are available for a fee. The clinic is closed during the summer months from May through August each year.
More information about Roane State Community College’s Dental Hygiene Program and their on-campus clinic can be found on their website. The initiative plays an important role in helping children maintain healthy teeth while providing valuable experience to students in the dental hygiene program.
