On January 31, 2017, GC Corporation was awarded first place for excellent quality management at the awarding ceremony and memorial lecture of the 9th Corporate Quality Management Level Research (conducted by the Union of Japanese Scientists and Engineers (JUSE), sponsored by Nikkei Inc.). Held at JUSE, in its Higashi-Koenji Building, the award ceremony also saw four other companies recognised for their excellent quality management, including KONICA MINOLTA, Inc., Takenaka Corp., Canon Inc. and Suntory Holdings, Ltd.
In the awardee’s lecture, General Manger of HR and GQM at GC International AG (Luzern, Switzerland), Mr. Gideon Blumental, presented under the theme of “GC’s Group-wide Challenge to Enhance Multi-national Quality Management”, and spoke on three elements of a corporation: ‘NAKAMA (Associates)’, ‘System’ and ‘Culture’ as well as bringing in actual examples of worldwide efforts for the enhancement of Corporate Quality.
After the lecture, a panel discussion was held under the theme of “In quest of Quality Management to be in step with the era of changes”. GC Corporation’s president, Dr. Kiyotaka Nakao, went up on the stage as one of the panellists and actively discussed and exchanged opinions with other participants.
Through the continuous promotion of GC’s Quality Management (GQM), GC aims to step up group-wide efforts for quality management and fulfil customer expectations.
