Keswick Dental Clinic Marks 25 Years of Growth and Patient Care

A Keswick-born dental implantologist and his wife are celebrating the 25th anniversary of their family practice.

Jack Spedding grew up in the Lake District and later studied dentistry at Newcastle University. In 2000, he and his wife, Alison, founded Spedding Dental Surgery in Carlisle.

What began as a single surgery has grown into a modern five-room practice with 10 clinicians, 16 dental nurses, and administrative staff.

Over the past 25 years, the practice has treated over 21,000 patients and performed over 190,000 procedures.

Today, the practice serves over 4,000 patients in north Cumbria and receives approximately 500 referrals annually from over 70 dentists, covering an area from Dumfries to Hexham.

Jack Spedding attributes the practice’s success to his dedicated team. “The professionalism, loyalty, and hard work of our staff are invaluable. Their commitment to patient care and personal development ensures continuity and trust in the practice,” he said.

Alison Spedding added: “Building and developing the practice over the past 25 years has been an incredible journey. We have assembled a strong team of general and specialist dentists to meet the needs of our patients, covering everything from implants and orthodontics to cosmetic dentistry and oral surgery.”

In addition to patient care, Spedding Dental Surgery also hosts professional training days for dental teams across Cumbria. Over 30 practices from towns including Penrith, Whitehaven, Wigton, Brampton, Cockermouth, and Kendal have participated, helping to expand comprehensive dental services in the region.
