A new dental practice offering same-day treatment without appointments is set to open in Carlisle this month. The clinic, named Bite Club, promotes a walk-in, walk-out service with the motto: “Walk in. Get seen. Walk out.”
According to the practice’s website, patients can access appointments on a first-come, first-served basis. A same-day assessment costs £90 and allows patients to address any dental concern. Following the assessment, dentists will outline treatment options, estimated costs, and whether any solutions are temporary or permanent.
Bite Club emphasizes a “no judgement” approach. The clinic reassures patients: “Whether it’s been six months or six years since your last check-up, we don’t care. We just aim to fix the problem today.” The website clarifies that assessments focus only on the issue described by the patient. Those wishing to address additional concerns must book another visit and pay a new fee.
The exact location of the Carlisle clinic is not publicly disclosed. Patients are asked to upload a medical form online before receiving the address. The practice’s listed hours are Monday to Friday, 9:30 am to 4 pm.
Bite Club’s terms and conditions indicate the business is operated by Plumfield Dental Practice Ltd, which also runs an established surgery on Warwick Road. However, this has not been officially confirmed.
The opening comes amid ongoing criticism of NHS dentistry. In July, the British Dental Association described the NHS dental system as “broken.” The government has proposed several measures to improve services, including requiring newly qualified dentists to work for the NHS for three years and setting minimum targets for urgent and unscheduled care each year.
Bite Club’s model of rapid, fee-based treatment offers an alternative to traditional appointments, reflecting growing interest in more flexible dental care. Its approach may appeal to patients seeking immediate attention without the delays often associated with NHS or private practices.
