KLOTEN, Switzerland — Nobel Biocare has announced the addition of the DEXIS Imprevo intra-oral scanner to its digital dentistry portfolio and global distribution network, expanding its digital ecosystem across restorative and implant dentistry.
The company said the move is aimed at supporting a seamless end-to-end digital workflow, from intra-oral scanning through treatment planning to final restoration.
According to Nobel Biocare, the DEXIS Imprevo scanner is engineered for fast, accurate and flexible scanning. It combines parallel processing technology, vivid colour imaging and direct integration with DTX Studio Clinic treatment planning software, enabling streamlined patient communication and clinical planning within a connected digital environment.
The scanner features a handpiece that is 20% slimmer than the IS 3800 series, a design intended to improve clinician ergonomics and enhance patient comfort. Nobel Biocare also noted that the system delivers scanning speeds of up to 40 frames per second, doubling the performance of the IS 3800 scanners.
In addition, the DEXIS Imprevo offers an extended depth of field of 25 mm, from –2 mm to +23 mm, representing a 39% increase over the IS 3800 line. This capability supports the capture of deeper preparations and interdental areas, expanding clinical flexibility across a wide range of indications.
The scanner uses GPU-based parallel processing to generate detailed, high-density digital meshes with faster processing times, supporting efficient and precise digital workflows.
