After a year of temporary relocation, Port Erin Dental Clinic in the Isle of Man has returned to its original location on Orchard Road, Orange Grove House.
The transition marks the clinic’s full recovery from the fire and its continued commitment to community dental services.
The clinic suffered a sudden fire in July 2023, which caused serious damage to the original facilities and had to be temporarily closed.
Shortly after the fire, the clinic quickly activated the emergency response mechanism to ensure that patients’ treatment was not interrupted and arranged appointments for patients at the Douglas clinic as soon as possible.
Shortly afterwards, the clinic set up a temporary location on Malew Street in Castletown and continued to provide comprehensive dental services from August 2023.
After months of renovation and facility upgrades, Orange Grove House is now brand new. The new treatment environment is not only more modern and comfortable, but also equipped with advanced dental equipment to provide patients with a better and more efficient treatment experience. The clinic is also actively recruiting new team members to further strengthen its service capabilities.
Manx Care welcomes the smooth relocation of the clinic and calls for the public’s understanding and support during this transition period.
A spokesperson said: “We understand that there may be a peak in appointments or communication delays in the early stage of the relocation, so we ask patients to be patient during this busy period. Our staff are doing their best to ensure a smooth return process.”
A representative of Port Erin Dental Clinic also emphasized that the team is deeply grateful for the long-term understanding and support of patients. He said: “The past year has been a difficult period for all of us, but we have always insisted on providing patients with continuous and reliable care services. With the clinic returning to its original location, we will continue to be committed to providing high-level dental services to the community.”
With the full resumption of operations, Port Erin Dental Clinic looks forward to providing more convenient and high-quality oral health protection for residents in the southern part of the Isle of Man, which also reflects the resilience and recovery of the medical system in the face of unexpected challenges.
