Roseman University of the Health Sciences (Roseman) and PDS Health have partnered to establish the Thorne Integrated Oral Health and Primary Care Clinic at 4 Sunset Road, Building A, in Henderson. The 12,000-square-foot facility, equipped with 35 dental chairs, is located adjacent to the university’s existing dental and orthodontic clinics.
The project expands the university’s dental care capacity to a total of 62 chairs, with an estimated capacity to serve up to 50,000 patients annually.
The clinic was fully funded by PDS Health. Its founder and CEO, Stephen E. Thorne IV, emphasized the importance of integrating oral health and medicine, noting that learning in an integrated clinical environment fosters students’ diverse thinking, fosters collaboration, and improves patient outcomes.
Dr. Frank Licari, Dean of the Roseman University School of Dentistry, stated that the Thorne Clinic not only expands access to affordable, high-quality dental care in the community but also serves as a clinical teaching facility for the school, providing a practical training platform for students.
Beginning in January 2026, dental students from Rothman’s South Jordan, Utah, campus will relocate to Henderson and provide patient care under faculty supervision.
A partnership with PDS Health also facilitated the introduction of Epic, a comprehensive electronic health record system, to the clinic, facilitating the interconnection of dental and medical information with the goal of improving patient outcomes.
In addition, dental imaging company DEXIS has enhanced the clinic’s digital imaging and diagnostic capabilities through an educational equipment grant.
Robert Befidi, President of DEXIS, noted that students training at the Thorne Clinic will master advanced tools and technologies, including artificial intelligence, that will define the future of dental care.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony, which included a tour of the new facility, showcased Rothman University and its partners’ commitment to advancing medical education and community care.
