The UAE International Dental Conference and Arab Dental Exhibition (AEEDC Dubai) concluded its landmark 30th edition in 2026 with the announcement of Dubai Dental Week, a pioneering initiative that celebrates three decades of global leadership in dentistry and oral health. The move reflects Dubai’s ambitious vision to shape the future of the dental sector both regionally and internationally.

Dubai Dental Week is a city-wide platform that brings together the entire dental ecosystem, encompassing business, education, innovation, community engagement, and public awareness. The initiative takes a strategic step towards enhancing collaboration, facilitating knowledge exchange, and driving innovation across the sector, with support from Dubai Economy and Tourism and the Dubai Health Authority.

Launched by AEEDC Dubai, Dubai Dental Week will be held annually, with its inaugural edition scheduled from 16 to 22 Jan 2027 across multiple locations in Dubai. The week will serve as a dynamic global platform, uniting dental brands, professionals, academics, policymakers, patients, families, and the wider public from around the world. As part of the programme, AEEDC Dubai 2027 will take place from 19 to 21 Jan, showcasing the world’s leading dental exhibition and scientific conference.

Dubai as a global hub for dental excellence

Dubai Dental Week aims to drive economic growth, elevate professional education and training, accelerate the adoption of advanced technologies and clinical innovations, and raise public awareness of oral health as a fundamental component of overall health and wellbeing. The initiative underscores Dubai’s continued commitment to delivering advanced healthcare services while maintaining high standards in dentistry.

Through this integrated and inclusive vision, Dubai Dental Week reinforces Dubai’s position as a global hub for innovation, education, public health advancement and professional excellence in dentistry, shaping the future of the sector locally, regionally and internationally.

The UAE dental sector is experiencing unprecedented growth. The UAE dental care market is projected to reach $318m by 2030, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7.4%, while dental equipment sales are expected to reach $282m, growing at a 5.25% CAGR. In 2024 alone, dental services related to oral healthcare and treatments generated $195.3m, with projections indicating growth to $290.49m by 2030. This expansion is driven by increased health awareness, government initiatives promoting preventive dental care and rising demand from medical tourism.

Dubai is home to 4,651 licensed dentists, supported by more than 1,000 dental assistants, hygienists and allied professionals. Across the wider Middle East and Africa region, the dental market was valued at $1.3bn in 2024 and is projected to reach $2.81bn by 2032, with Dubai serving as a central hub of excellence.

Dubai’s reputation as one of the leading medical tourism destinations further amplifies the significance of Dubai Dental Week. In 2023, the city welcomed 691,000 medical tourists, generating 1.03bn AED ($280.5m) in direct revenue and 2.3bn AED ($627m) indirectly through accommodation, transport and leisure activities. Notably, 29% of these visitors sought dental services, particularly advanced aesthetic treatments such as teeth whitening, veneers and smile makeovers. The influence of prominent UAE celebrities and social media figures has further increased public awareness and interest in dental aesthetics, strengthening Dubai’s global profile in the sector.

Dubai Dental Week will also enhance the city’s position as a MICE and healthcare hub, supporting global ranking and economic growth objectives. Aligned with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and the emirate’s healthcare and medical tourism strategies, the initiative brings together local and international stakeholders to foster innovation, education and long-term impact across the dental sector.

A comprehensive and inclusive programme for professionals, youth, and the public

Dubai Dental Week is designed to engage all stakeholders within the dental ecosystem through a collaborative and sustainable framework. Participants include dental and oral healthcare professionals, hospitals, clinics, equipment and oral care brands, global partners, specialised media, dental academies, universities and educational institutions.

The initiative features a city-wide programme of events and activations that combine business-to-business initiatives with public-facing campaigns. These activities aim to enhance oral health awareness, promote education, encourage preventive care and educate children and young people on the importance of good oral hygiene, while also highlighting diverse career pathways within the dental sector.

Dubai Dental Week is structured around four strategic pillars.

The economic impact pillar focuses on strengthening connections between the global dental industry and regional markets, positioning Dubai as a hub for dental business, trade, investment, and international partnerships.

The social awareness pillar prioritises public health education, promoting oral hygiene, routine dental check-ups and awareness of the strong link between oral health and overall wellbeing, encouraging healthier lifestyles and preventive care practices.

The scientific excellence pillar delivers a comprehensive educational programme for dental professionals, including courses, workshops, training sessions, and conferences that highlight the latest research, technological advancements, and clinical innovations. This approach supports continuous professional development and the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based dental care.

The careers and talent development pillar showcases dental programmes across universities, colleges, private institutions and leading dental brands in Dubai and the UAE. It presents structured curricula and career pathways that prepare the next generation for diverse roles within the sector, from research and development to clinical practice, education, marketing and sales, supporting sustainable growth, and long-term innovation.

As part of Dubai Dental Week, the city will also host a Clinics Festival, providing dental clinics with an opportunity to showcase a wide range of services and exclusive dental tourism packages.

The launch of Dubai Dental Week was announced in the presence of His Excellency Ambassador Professor Abdulsalam AlMadani, roving ambassador of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) for the GCC region and chairman of AEEDC Dubai and the Global Scientific Dental Alliance (GSDA); Professor Dr Nikolai Sharkov, president of the FDI World Dental Federation; Ahmed Aljumairi Almheiri, director of Dubai Business Events at Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, part of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism; and Mohamed Al Mheiri, director of the Health Tourism Department at Dubai Health Authority, alongside senior officials, distinguished guests and media representatives.

Commenting on the announcement, AlMadani said: “Dubai Dental Week represents a transformative milestone for the global dental industry. It unites professionals, educators, innovators and the public through a city-wide platform that promotes knowledge exchange, advanced education and innovation-driven practice. This initiative strengthens Dubai’s position as a global hub for oral health and dental excellence, while delivering lasting economic, educational and societal impact worldwide.”

Ahmed Al Khaja, chief executive officer of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, part of the Department of Economy and Tourism, added that Dubai’s proven ability to host major global events has been demonstrated through the sustained success of AEEDC Dubai. He noted that AEEDC Dubai’s 30th anniversary paved the way for the launch of Dubai Dental Week, reflecting the emirate’s capacity to deliver impactful events that enhance professional development, knowledge exchange and cross-sector collaboration. He further emphasised that supporting initiatives such as Dubai Dental Week aligns with the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, reinforcing Dubai’s status as a leading global destination for business and leisure.

All professional and public activities will be consolidated on a dedicated digital platform, featuring the full agenda from 16 to 22 Jan 2027, alongside information on participating clinics, dental treatments, workshops, educational courses, partners and professional development programmes. The portal will enable visitors to plan their participation and maximise the learning, training and healthcare opportunities available throughout Dubai Dental Week.
