Osstem Implant to showcase technology as Diamond Sponsor at EuroPerio11

Osstem Implant drew significant attention from the European dental community at the 2024 EAO Congress held in Milan, Italy

Osstem Implant will participate in EuroPerio11, hosted by the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP).

The four-day event will take place from 14-17 May at Messe Wien Exhibition & Congress Centre (Hall B) in Austria, gathering leading dental companies from around the globe. Osstem Implant will participate as a Diamond Sponsor, the highest sponsorship level among more than 30 participating companies, operating its exhibition booth (F15) throughout the duration of the event.

The company will showcase its core product categories: implants, surgical kits, GBR (guided bone regeneration) materials, and imaging/digital equipment. Osstem’s product managers and local branch leaders from various countries will provide multilingual consultations in English, German, and French.

On 15 May, Osstem will host an exclusive lecture session for 190 dental professionals in Conference Room Stolz2, under the theme: “An Integrated Approach for Successful Implant Treatment: Surgery, Regeneration, and Digital Strategies”.

A company representative stated: “We fully support the EFP’s mission to raise public awareness of periodontal diseases and improve global oral health. At EuroPerio11, we will proudly present the highest-quality products, which embody the entirety of our R&D capabilities in periodontal science and implantology.”

SOI Surface: Maximising implant success in periodontally compromised patients

Osstem’s SOI (super osseointegration) technology features a fourth-generation surface treatment combining UV and HEPES processing, resulting in a superhydrophilic surface that accelerates osseointegration and healing. Compared to conventional SA surfaces, SOI improves bone-implant bonding strength by 50%, and shortens treatment time from up to six months to just one to two months. Osstem notes that SOI implants show high success rates in patients with a history of periodontal disease or compromised bone quality, such as the elderly.

NH surface with clinical outcomes

Visitors can also experience Hiossen’s ET NH (Nano-hydroxyapatite) implants through hands-on programmes. The NH surface is based on the widely used SA surface but coated with bioabsorbable, biocompatible material less than 10nm in size. This nanocoating, made of the same mineral composition as natural bone, enables superior osseointegration along the threads of the implant. The coating remains intact even under torque forces exceeding 50Ncm. NH Surface implants reduce prosthetic treatment time by one to three weeks on average and are safe to use across all bone types.

Advanced GBR techniques for edentulous and periodontally compromised cases

Led by Prof Péter Windisch, chair of periodontology at Semmelweis University (Hungary), Osstem will present its latest approaches in peri-implant tissue management, GBR procedures, and digital scanning techniques for accurately identifying implant sites and subgingival structures. Presenters include:

  • Dr Fulvio Gatti, on “Management of peri-implant hard and soft tissues”
  • Prof Darko Božić, on “How do different membranes have an effect on soft tissue quality following GBR procedures?”
  • Prof Vygandas Rutkūnas, on “Communication of prosthetic contour and materials in digital implant workflows”

The company emphasised that for patients with severe periodontal disease, bone and soft tissue damage, or edentulous conditions, it is essential to use appropriate GBR techniques and biomaterials for effective implant site regeneration. Osstem will introduce its OssBuilder, a titanium mesh that maintains graft space and prevents bone collapse, and OssCover, a collagen membrane that supports soft tissue exclusion and stable healing environments — highlighting materials that push the boundaries of regenerative implant dentistry.
Visitors can experience firsthand Osstem’s CBCT T2 and Medit’s intraoral scanners i700 and i900 at the exhibition booth, with expert guidance provided on-site.

Customised surgical kits for high precision and efficiency

Osstem will display four kits from its OneGuide System, a comprehensive digital surgical guide solution:

  • OneGuide KIT: General use for implants 3.5–5mm in diameter
  • OneCAS KIT: Prevents maxillary sinus perforation
  • One485 KIT: Minimises inferior alveolar nerve injury
  • OneMS KIT: Ideal for narrow bone widths, such as in mandibular anterior regions

The newly launched IM-Cure KIT will also be introduced. Designed to remove peri-implantitis while minimising implant surface damage, this all-in-one toolkit enables both diagnosis and treatment of peri-implantitis with ease.

Osstem Implant will also enhance visitor experience by offering on-site giveaways featuring its brand mascot “Leoger” and catering services, ensuring a comfortable and engaging experience for all attendees.
